Okay, I host a handful of you on my webspace, because you are exceptionally kickass people who update a shitload more than I ever did. :D

In the intrests of making life a cheaper place to live, I'm considering bringing kawaii.nu back down to the non-business plan. I haven't gone over 15G of bandwidth since Melodybomb stopped being updated (are you going to bring it back up, Mink?), and there's really no reason for me to be paying for BW I don't need.

So really my question is, do any of you plan on putting up any big, mega-rare files that will attract enough attention to warrant use of all this BW?

Oh, and switching to the lower plan won't impact your space limits, and I stand by the offer to extend yours for that new website, Airiko~

#. Does the editing on Geof's BBSMAP disk not kick TOTAL and COMPLETE ass? :O Not a fan of all the songs, but the EDITING, man... Whoa. He and the other guys have also got such a sense of ~funny~. No WONDER everyone thinks of him first when they talk about BBS karaoke. xD

In the world of video editing/ripping/being a filthy leech:
#. Is there a way to rip video from a PS2 disk? I know how to rip a DVD, I know how to rip video and audio from a PSX disk... But everything I've read about PS2 ripping involves stuff that I can't seem to access on either my FFX or my FFX2 disks... And I need to make movie rips. The icons DEMAND to be made, dammit. xD
..If ripping is impossible without a VCC (silly Squaresoft encodes!), anyone have an idea of random FTPs I could leech little files from? IRC channels that have fserves available and won't boot me for typing a !list? ..I hate making conversation in IRC. I deliberately choose n00b-ish handles for a REASON. xD
#. On the subject of IRC fserves, what about old cartoons? xD The only steady channels I know of that are leecher-friendly are #morning~musume and #powerrangers. Even my random FF music chan has recently started booting leechers (Apparently, I can !list in there but not @find? What is the diff? o__o).

my weekend in a nutshell

Have got a case of the MAJOR sleepies today. @_@

Thanks to everyone who hassled me about getting my reading done -- I'm actually back ahead for this week's work! Yay not having a life~ \:D/
I'm starting on some of the final projects due in a few weeks, so that I don't end up all overwhelmed like I feel like at the end of every semester. I've been scheduling myself kind of tightly for the last few weeks, and it seems to be working out! ..I hope. o.o

Mom's birthday was this past Saturday. She set a new record for longest party she's ever thrown. ^^; They left with their friends for 7:30 PM reservations on Friday evening. Then they came back and hung out in the basement. The party ended at 10:00PM Saturday night, when Mom collapsed on the downstairs futon. ^^;
There were some iffy issues that came up along the way, but here's not an appropriate forum for that. ^^;

Neko had to go back to the vet on Thursday because the dog bite from a month ago got infected. They gave him surgery, and now he's got to wear one of those pet-funnel-things. We're also concerned that the vet didn't properly drain his abcess; he grew another lump beside his surgery wound.. Gah. It's so expensive, too! ;_;

Caro got a job~ Congrats! ^^
And now that she's off and busy, I'm back on the "I need a summer job" train. But that's the old "I want the money, but I don't want to be ~there~ thought train. Am far too embittered towards anyone who will have me. xD

I never know how to end long posts. It feels like it should have a closing, or some unifying theme to tie it all together. But there is none. xD YAY NONSENSE~!

Amused by the way Omarosa started trying to weasel out of the Oprah "n-word" lie, to which Ereka piped up with a flat out "She's a LIAR!!!"... To which Omarosa couldn't reasonably retort, seeing as how America saw her caught in 2 lies within three days.

Carolyn and George had a mini-fight over which task was more difficult! Score!

The "game show" portions at the end were an insult to my intelligence. ^^; I think his SNL appeareance went to Donald's head or something -- fooled him into thinking he can be an entertainer. ^^;

I lost my cell phone case. Again. This is the third one I've lost since I've had a phone... I've got to learn to be more freakin' responsible. >(

OH, and so this has some substance, let me share a cute little anecdote.. For class, we're supposed to read Lucky Jim, by Kingsley Amis. We won't start discussion on it until Monday, but I've been reading it for the past couple of weeks because it's a MONSTER 300-page beast. That, and we were doing Waiting for Godot before, and I zoomed ahead with that. <33333 Beckett~!

Now, the back of the book described it as a high-spirited British satire of some kid named Jim. I hovered around page 150 when it started dawning on me that there was a complete absense of high-spirits, satire, or ~anyone~ named Jim.
I flipped to the title page. "Brighton Rock by Graham Greene." ..Checked back at the cover. "Lucky Jim by Kingsley Amis." Confusion.

See.. Apparently, the book Amazon sent me with my shipment for my classes back in January turns out to be a misprint. Brighton Rock's text in Lucky Jim's cover.
Which is so completely odd and BAFFLING that I didn't catch it sooner.

The problem being, I really have been enjoying Brighton Rock. It's got everything that the classics-for-class have been missing -- it's a murder mystery, with all kinds of intrigue and backstabbing and backtracking. And I've already gotten halfway through, and I want to know how Ida catches the killer.. but it's not the book I have to read for class. ;_____;

I picked up the actual Lucky Jim from the bookstore today (which prompted a check on my balance and a marvel at the fact that I had enough money to cover the cost of the book)... The book is even longer than Brighton Rock.

So basically.. If you see me online at all within the next few days.. Make sure I'm reading. 'Cause I am now officially very far behind where I want to be. ^^;;;

Final Fantasy X-2 is a COCKTEASE.

You do NOT need 100% completion to get the perfect ending. I did it with 98% last weekend, and saw all kinds of awesomeness flying around~ And then I went to look up spoilers on the "Perfect" ending, and IT WAS THE SAME THING.

100% completion is a FALLACY.
A FALSEHOOD.
A LIE.

And I wasted 75 hours of my life discovering that.

And am almost tempted to waste another 75 with that whole "new game plus" option. :O

EDIT: I'm an idiot. Read more in-depth spoilers, and apparently the ~perfect~ ending is the kickass ending with a retarded, non-motion exposition scene tacked on the end. Oh well. In no hurry to give a shit about that. xD

My journal is boring depressing because I never bother to write up fond memories. Let us rectify that. ^_^

This weekend, naroclie and her mother drove down to visit NYC. As I am the Eternal Tagalong, I insisted that we have a meetup. After we both weedled at our moms for a while, we arranged for them to visit me on Friday evening, and then they'd go off and be all touristy Saturday and Sunday.

I cleaned like whoa Friday afternoon. xD I hadn't thought I was capable of covering three rooms in six hours. Best under pressure, I suppose. ^.^* But then she arrived, and we proceeded to have a WAR of overpoliteness. xD

We watched the Batman Beyond movie with Director's Commentary on. Dini and Timm are such fanboys~ xD "We were really trying to explore the concept of Robin as Batman's son, and the Joker perverting the concept -- oh EW man! ....We shouldn't have written that. That's so bad."
And we eventually putzed through comic books and old awful should-have-been-burned sketchbooks of mine (you will breathe NO WORD of my childhood retardation, Caro. Not a WORD. xD) and then let old Adam West-style Batman soothe us to sleep. xD
I was out before the second episode -- how DID they break out of the Penguin's helium-vacuum trap? o_o

It wasn't much event-wise, but it's been so long since I had the feel of an old-school "sleepover" experience. ^^ It was completely refreshing. I enjoyed. ^^*

RPG Pluggage~!

I don't normally pimp out RPGs on the normal journal, but this new one I've joined needs to not be on life-support. xDD

It's a Potter game, incantatem, and it's one of those post-apocalyptic, Voldie-won-the-war games... But it is SUCH an interesting premise bogged down by questionable moderation (The mod plays Ginny, with the Username "i_fuckvoldemort"..? o_o)... So I say we stage a takeover. xD I look in the general direction of naroclie, aihs, and darkenedwings, since I've been bugging you to join a Livejournal RPG for AGES now... And also in the direction of __hyacinthus even though she's got NO time anymore.. :D

Kind of wish I was still talking to hobaggins, too, even though she intimidated the hell out of me. xD
